Anything Goes in Amsterdam...

All I can say is... WOW! What a fantastic city. Great people, great food, great fun, great architecture, and great history. This is one place everyone should put on their list to visit.

Strange and Mysterious...

These are from the area southwest of Oxford. They are from Avebury, Silbury Hill, and Stonehenge. Really awesome in person!

Oxford Oddities...

Here's a few pics from Oxford. A lot of the indoor scenes for Harry Potter were shot here.

Journey Delayed...

SHIT!!!! As soon as the journey started, it tripped over the curb and fell flat on its face. We boarded the plane in STL right on time, things were going great. Got ready to pull away from the gate, and: "This is the captain...", delayed due to some @*&%!@ valve that was stuck. They had us leave the plane after about an hour, then right in the middle of trying to re-book everyone, they put us back on the plane. American Airlines was no help at all during the flight. We land and send Zack ahead to run to the gate for the London flight. We get there one minute late and the plane is nowhere to be seen... GONE! We get a hotel room at the airport Hilton, Leslie calls the London hotel to update them, "no worries, your room will be here, but you still have to pay for the first night that you're going to miss..." Love those Brits!. Anyway, here we sit, all five of us in a small room looking out at the rain and snow coming down in Beautiful Chicago. They put us on the 10pm flight in the bulkhead row (we don't need to put our legs anywhere!), we'll arrive at 11:35am. After customs and transport, we should be at the hotel around 1pm. There goes half of our big day in London. Let the fun begin...

The Journey Begins...

The trip to the UK begins today. It will be Friday night before we arrive. I will be making regular posts here as we are traveling with lots of photos. 2 days in London, 3 days in Oxford with stops at Avebury and Stonehenge, 3 days in Amsterdam with a detour to Brussels, then back to London for a day before heading home...

I took the Jeep out into the area at the end of Stadium Blvd this weekend. I wanted to see what they did to it when they tore out the "forest" that used to be there. That's the Datastorm/Quarterdeck building in the background of the first pic.

Look's like there'll be plenty of room for a Taco Bell...

Over Allocated

Take a look at my desk and you'll see why I haven't posted much lately... I'M SWAMPED! :)

It's a Twister!

We had several tornados move through the area earlier this evening. Barbara and Arthur had some damage to their house. We got lucky here. The storm went just north of us. The sirens just started going off again. Should be an interesting night...

Sydney Mardi Gras Parade

What a parade! We had seats in a VIP section so we had a great view. Over 500,000 people attended...

Blue Mountain Trek

Friday, we did a 12 mile trek to the Ruined Castle in the Blue Mountains. We started at the left of the overview photo and went all the way around to the backside of the point on the right of the photo. It was mostly rain forest with a short section of open rock climbing. It was rated expert level, but we were blissfully ignorant. Ask us about the leaches when we get back...
